Saturday - 2 Day TWO Vase Workshop

Make 2 beautiful, original slab built vases! April 27th & May 4th from 3-6pm

  • 140 US dollars
  • East Main Street

Service Description

Day 1 of this course (Sunday, April 27h) will cover a basic introduction to slab building to construct a slab built vase, using a mid-fire clay body (firing to cone 5-6). Several designs for vases will be demonstrated. Students will add designs and texture to their vase to make it unique. Students who sign up for this workshop will have and extra hour to make an additional vase. This is a great option if you have 2 moms you want to give to for Mother's Day or if you want to give one & keep one. The second day of this course will take place two weeks later on Sunday, May 4th, as the pieces will need to slowly dry, and be bisque fired prior to glazing. During the second day, the student will glaze their piece using premixed glazes supplied by Main Street Pottery. Glazing will take around an 1-2 hours. Come create a mug that you will love! **Students should be 10 years old or older unless accompanied by a participating adult. The pieces will then be kiln fired and then the students will be called once the pieces are available to pick up at the store, within 1 week after glazing (the second day). Ticket Cost*: $140, materials and supplies (clay, glazing, pottery tools, & decorative tools) included. Instructors: Katy Nickell
