100 US dollars
East Main Street

Service Description

Day 1 of this workshop (Sept. 15th) will cover a basic introduction to hand-building with slabs to construct slab built pumpkins, using a mid-fire clay body (firing to cone 5-6). We will go over the basics on how to construct your pumpkins. Students will add design elements to make their pumpkins unique. You should have time to build 1 medium sized pumpkin & a variety of 3-5 smaller pumpkins. The second day of this course will take place 2 weeks later on Sunday, Sept. 29th, as the pieces will need to slowly dry, and be bisque fired prior to glazing. During the second day, the student will glaze their piece using premixed glazes supplied by Main Street Pottery. Glazing will take around an 2 hours. Come create unique pumpkins that you will love! **Students should be 8 years old or older unless accompanied by a adult who is also taking the class. This is an excellent workshop to take together! The pieces will then be kiln fired and then the students will be called once the pieces are available to pick up at the store, within 2-3 weeks after glazing (the second day). Ticket Cost*: $100, materials and supplies (clay, glazing, pottery tools, & decorative tools) included. Instructors: Katy Nickell
