Service Description
Day 1 of this course (Sat. March 18th) will cover a basic introduction to slab building to construct a slab built mug, using a mid-fire clay body (firing to cone 5-6). Several designs for mugs and handles will be demonstrated. Students will add designs and texture to their mug to make it unique. The second day of this course will take place two weeks later on Saturday April 1st, as the pieces will need to slowly dry, and be bisque fired prior to glazing. During the second day, the student will glaze their piece using premixed glazes supplied by Main Street Pottery. Glazing will take around an 1-2 hours. Come create a mug that you will love! **Students should be 10 years old or older. The pieces will then be kiln fired and then the students will be called once the pieces are available to pick up at the store, within 1-2 weeks after glazing (the second day). Ticket Cost*: $80, materials and supplies (clay, glazing, pottery tools, & decorative tools) included. Instructors: Candy Austin
